But not for the reasons that most people think. People always would tell me that I should enjoy her not crawling/walking because once she started to I would really be in trouble. She would be into everything. She would constantly be on the move. I would always tell them that I couldn't wait for her to start moving around. I thought it would be better because she could get into more things and it would make play time more fun. These things have proved true.
Play time is a lot more fun. She can move around and interact more. We can chase each other. We can bang on things and get into things. Yes, she is on the move most of the time but it wasn't like I sat on the sofa all day when she wasn't moving. I usually had her in a sling (until she got too heavy) and was doing things.
Why don't I like it that she is crawling around and learning how to walk?
All the ouchies!! She is getting all these little scrapes, bumps, and bruises. She is a fearless little girl. There is no mountain she can't climb, no oven door she can't open, no surface not sturdy enough to pull her twenty nine pounds up on. Least that is how she feels but that box isn't sturdy enough and she falls on her butt, or when that oven door sucks and pops right open and knocks her down, or when that corner of the wall is too close when her little legs tire...
It is killing me people. Every time I find a new little ouchie it kills me inside. I think God should make it so babies can talk and walk when they are first born! The first time she cut her little finger on our base board heaters and I saw blood. My little tiny baby's blood. My eight month old little precious girl's blood. My darling curly haired bouncing baby girl's blood you would have thought she had cut a leg off. Did I notice because she started crying? Did I notice because she stopped what she was doing because it hurt her? Not my fearless baby, I noticed when I looked over and there was blood on her leg she was still playing and carrying on like nothing had happened! I stopped her and went in search for the source of all that blood! It had to been like a cup worth. Ok, maybe it was more like 1/16 of a teaspoon but it felt like it was a cup.
It was just a tiny little cut on her finger but... but still.
Throw flour all over the kitchen floor, spread bubble bath all over the carpet, write on Daddy's jerseys with permanent marker, paint the car with house paint (I did that when I was three.), unroll ten rolls of toilet paper all over the house, feed the dog diaper cream, play baseball with the wine glasses, but please baby girl stop getting ouchies. Momma just can't take it!!!

Pull Ups
Nope not the diapers!
Guess who can pull them self up to stand?

That is right! Baby girl is working on her standing! The photo is a little out of focus because the camera hadn't finished with its settings but I wanted to get the photo before she toppled over so I just took it.
We are staying busy over here but the husband finally is going back to a schedule instead of working everyday so you might be hearing from us more often!
Baby girl is nearing 8 months old. She has six teeth that are working there way out. She is working really hard on the standing thing and showing me everything she is able to get into. She is getting better at eating as well as she learns how to pinch, grab, and fish things out of her palm once she does have a hold of them.
